Research Open House
What is Research Open House?
Research Open House is an opportunity for all Wilson College of Textiles Graduate Students to share their research with their peers, faculty in the college, and members of the industry. This is a great opportunity to network with individuals in industry, learn about new innovations in the textiles industry, and possibly win some money in the process.
Format for 2021-22 Research Open House
In response to the COVID-19 virus, this year’s ROH is planned to be held in-person but we require every participating member to wear a mask and follow safety protocols. We will have a panel of members of the industry and academia who will answer any questions from the audience along with our beloved students competing in the oral and poster presentations competitions where they would display their research.
Please see the schedule for the Research Open House below.

Format for 2020-21 Research Open House
In response to the COVID-19 virus, this year’s ROH will be entirely online. To protect our graduate students and participants we will have a pre-recorded morning session and a live online afternoon session. We will have two guest speakers to speak on recent innovations within the textiles industry and answer any questions from the audience. Format for 2020 Research Open House
After our morning guest speaker, all participants will be able to view graduate student presentations on their own time and be able to speak with each presenter, via zoom. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide a lunch for all of our participants but we will allow enough time for everyone to enjoy a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon we will have. In the afternoon, students will compete in a 3MT style competition where they will have to condense years of research and numerous experiments down to a single static slide and 3 minutes. The 3MT will be judged by members of our faculty. Winners for each competition will be announced following the 3MT competition.
